I have heard some rumors that Yamaha is going to be updating the Blaster soon. Any truth to that?

I wouldn't mind to seeing a longer & wider version with a bigger bore two stroke, better brakes, more wheel travel and reverse. Oh, and how about a little more plastic on the rear.

 

I have not heard that...Or at least seen anything in writing.
It would be nice to see some improvements to the blaster. But Yamaha makes a good amount of money off the entry level price of the blaster. After all these years it seems they would have done something to improve it by now if they were going to. Anyone who is serious about racing or being competetive with the blaster makes the changes to the stance, suspension and motor. I don't think you will ever see reverse...the bike is not heavy at all.

 

I heard a yamaha dealer talking about a blaster with a 4 stroke motor. It would be nice if they put hydrolic brakes on this bike.

 

i seen a small irtical in one of the DirtWheels a few months ago they said it might be changed to a 250cc 4-stroke.

 

yeah I read something about it too, in an atv sport magazine.. would be nice! hopefully they keep the manual clutch and 6 spd...

 

They said the engine would be like the one from the YZ250F, so im guessing that it would be the same 5 speed transmission. It looks like it would be cool.

 

I heard they are taking the 250 4Stroke Dirt Bike Engine and putting into the Blaster.. that is all i can say for now... I will keep you guys updated if i hear anything else
