It's been a while since anyone posted info. concerning Raptor top speeds with a GPS unit. Since I am sure many more Raptors are broken in now and some are even modified with different gearing, pipes, engine mods, etc.., top speeds should be very interesting. Also, if you ride another performance-oriented atv of any brand, feel free to post. Post-em!

Can do KyRaptor! What shift do you work? Were would we meet?
If you wanted to meet me at the State Police post (off of the West Ky Parkway just past the Nortonville exit), I could show you one heck of a riding place about 20 minutes from there, but I'd prefer we didn't get a bunch of Yahoos over there, or they'd likely to shut it down. It also has about a 1/2 to 3/4 mile flat to drag on as well.
Any other suggestions?

When I first got my Raptor a few months ago, I obtained 72 MPH right out of the box without holding the throttle down very long. This was done on flat road pavement. This was with the GPS unit mounted to the handle bar. Since, I have reduced the front sprocket size. Trying again, I had a problem with the GPS shutting off. Come to find out, I needed a battery spacer to correct the problem. Batteries got too much vibration. I now have the spacer so I can see what my top speed will be with the lower gearing. The GPS is probably the most accurate device you can get. The GPS automatically records your maximum speed.
