Default Cam for a Wolverine 450

Anyone put a high performance cam in a Wolverine 450 yet? I know ctateusa1 has but he's done alot more. Anyone with a Wolverine or Kodiak 450?

I have heard of a lot of people that have used either the kodiak or a grizz cam in theirs in the past but I am not sure which brand it was and the duration or anything else(the one that I got from FST is also the high performance cam for the wolverine 350 when its bored out to the 446 kit.)

Thanks Chris I'm not quite ready to go as deep into my bike as you have. I spoke to Hotcams this morning and they don't have a cam for our bike or have plans to make one yet. He did lead me to believe that if demand was there they might. A Mudbuster would be a great "bolt on". I'll keep looking.

I think mudbuster is one of them that I have heard of people doing, also check with webcams.com and see about them because I believe that they are the ones that people have put it.

I dont know where the original wolvy 450 owners from first releases are at but if you search some of the really old posts you might find out about which ones it was that installed a cam in the 450.

I ordered a Webcam "88 Grind" and spring kit today ($186.00+UPS) and it should be here Friday. I've called everyone I could find and no one else makes one for a stock bore. It's supposed to give a really good boost through the entire power band. A local motorcycle/Quad engine builder is going to do the install for me for less than $200.00. What do you think about porting and polishing while the head is off?

The Cam mod sounds interesting, cant wait to hear more on results. Id do the porting and polishing thing since the heads allready off and maybe even shave a sliver off of it. Not to change the subject but, how you liken the one inch wheel spacers, is it that much more stable than before, Ive Almost rolled mine several times in the past 2 months due to being use to riding a 2-wheel drive sport quad.

I like the spacers a lot. I haven't got much time on it since they went on but it seems more stable in the off camber stuff. I think the shocks helped a lot.

I'll let you know when it gets here and when the install is scheduled. I'm really jazzed about this.

Yhea definetly while they have teh head off have it ported and polished, right now noone offers a stock bore high compression piston or a bbk other than the fst 488 kit with a high compression piston. I dont know if I would have it shaved as the small amount that they would take off would not bump the compression much at all. Plus anytime you shave a head it gets that much closer to having the valves contact the head.
