Default Open air box on a Wolverine?

like 1500 here, I will definetly get an outerwears for my K&N shortly but I ride a lot in creeks so I dont think I will ever just pull off the cover of my airbox.

Merry christmas to you and yours as well.

I didn't even notice you were talking about a 450 rather than the 350....my bad. I have the 350 and it's modded up pretty good. How do you guys like the 450? Did you ever have the 350 to compare it to?

I love the 450. It is just the right combination of sporty handling and go anywhere for me.
I've finished the air box mod and I think it's going to work great. I bought an Outerwears that fits my Cummins pickup's Airaid intake and I have enough material for 2 air boxes. I'll try to post pic's soon.

Does removing the airbox lid make that much difference? I ride in the sand quite a bit, so I dont think it would be a great idea for me....but Im always up for more power.

All my sand machines have the lid removed and yes it let's the engine breath better so assuming you're jetted correctly it will give you a tad more power, although it won't be a lot.

Depending on who you ask either use a foam filter or a K&N with a pre-filter. I have two Raptors, 1 has a UNI foam and the other has the K&N with pre-filter. I don't seem to have any problems at all as long as I use the pre-filter but if you want to feel better about it just use a foam filter.

The only real issue I've ever seen with the lid removed is using the ATV is deep water.

I almost forgot, I have a Wolvy 350 with a K&N and no lid. I have had no problems with it either.

Yhea the only problem with removing the lid on most quads including the wolvy 450 is that the filter is held in place atleast partly by the airbox lid. But if you go to a clamp on filter then it can be removed and you wont have any problems with the filter unsealing.

Not yet, I'm still waiting for the dealership to get my head gasket in. With any luck I'll be starting on it before the end of this week.
