Default Open air box on a Wolverine?

Anybody figure out a way to run their airbox with out the lid? I'm working on adapting the box to except a clamp on UNI filter so I can remove the lid. I'm running with 6 filtered air vents in it now but I think I could squeeze a little more out of it with no lid. Any ideas?

what I would do to run the box open is just take the top of the box and cut it all the way around just leaving the edge of it and then cover it with an outerfilter.

On my raptor 350, I am putting a piece of steel tubing inside the carb tubing[the part that connects the airbox] then have it be bigger on the other side, and then clamp on a filter to the other end. Then put a outer wear, on the filter, and then there no more lid. Just make sure you silicon around the edges though.

BTW GYTR makes an adapter for the Raptor 350 for mounting a clamp on style air filter. I installed one in my air box today.

Here's one option:

Here is another:

Both of these options will allow you to remove the airbox lid.

The problem with the first one is that it is for the 350 wolverine I dont know if it will work for the 450. And it looks like the 2nd one is the same way.

I was able to modify the factory airbox to accept the Raptor adapter. I've got the biggest main jet (140) from my Dynojet kit in there now and I think I need to go bigger. The cam should be going in next week so I'll wait to see what I need then.

Hey Chris what is the altitude where you live? I'm at 5300ft. BTW I'm going to get an EHS Outerwears airbox cover to help keep the bad stuff out.
Happy Holidays to you and yours.
