Need 2003 660 Griz Help!!!
#1
Looking for help on this. It won't start. I have checked the fuel line to the carb and it flows, and there is gas (I am sure I may get one person out there telling me to check to see if there is gas in it). I think the carb got something in it that is preventing the fuel flow.
I've torn the Griz down and saw the carb....then I decieded that it was more than I can handle. Is it a simple job to open it up and look for a clog? Or is it a job that has to go to someone who is a 'professional'?
Need some help from the professionals!

It can be a bit intimidating, but once youve done it, its not a big deal. Use a digital camera, if you think you might not remember how things go back together.
You can try the drain screw on the bottom of the float bowl to see if gas gets that far.Have you tried it with the selector in reserve?
Hard starting cold...is also a symptom of low compression, caused by a tight intake valve. How long has it been since the valves were checked?
Have you checked for spark? Kill switch bumped to kill?

I have tried the selectors...fuel flows out of the tank in both positions. As for the drain screw...nothing comes out.
I will use the camera idea...still nervous about trying...worse case is that I have to take the parts to someone to fix...
Was wondering if there is something I should be looking for? Or just take it off and use a low pressure hose to ensure everything is flowing?

If nothing came out when you opened the drain screw, you probably have a stuck float. Today's crummy gas evaporates a lot quicker, and will gum up a needle and seat. It happened to my Wolverine this fall, it sat for a couple of weeks, and would not start, I couldn't even blow through the gas line. Removed the bowl, and had to pull the needle out of the seat, it was so gummed up. Give the carb a good cleaning, and see what happens.

Had same problem awhile back, thought it was the carb also.Several hours later and a royal case of the a** , put bike back together and it still would not start . At witts end decided to have a beer and ponder my situation. After about half way through my beer sitting behind my bike on the ground i looked up and noticed the screen on my HMF muffler was completely clogged with carbon. Sprayed with cardon cleaner and scrubed with wire brush and pushed start problem solved
