The K&N for my truck is drying as we speak........ We had one heck of a sand storm at sand hollow when we were down there.... The sand got into everything....
I've seen other people post on here that they pull off their filter and have "Dust" inside. I use K&N on my truck and 4 wheelers and haven't seen that, yet. Just make sure you clean and "OIL" the filter. If dust is making it past the filter, then you may have not oiled it correctly.
On the other hand, I enjoy being able to take a Uni and place it into a plastic bag with a small amount of soap and get the dirt and oil out, then dry and oil while I'm camping.
The debate will go on forever......

personally i use a K&N and have liked them since i started i found using uni filters just started becoming annoying cleaning then all the time , not that i dont clean mine. and about the prefilter thats just a second protection because there is always going to be somthing getting through and this will save u in the long run. i guess its all personal prefence i use it mostly for the increase in power and more low end power.
