Have you checked the fuse? There is a fuse under the rear left fender that is common for falling apart (it's the glass type). It is in a water-proof rubber enclosure.

Has anything been done to the wiring? Like has it been hacked on or anything? Maybe the key switch is bad? Or have you tried jumping from the battery + terminal to the terminal on the starter to make sure the battery is good and the engine is grounded?

well the wiring looks like it has been messed with. looks like someone didnt know whatr they were doing? so i tried to get a different harnness but first on was wronf it had the wrong connections. second one i just put on tonignt wrong again . wrong conections for the cdi box . how can you test the key switch and the kill run switch? now 200 bucks latter and still in same spot so i put the old one back on and try to figure out whats wrong

well it might be the main switch key i tested with a multi.meter and found there is nothing betwwen the black and black/white wires and i have a another switch froma different harnness and there is something between thoses colors do you think that might be the problem?

It's very possible. The key switch just passes power through when the switch is turned to "on". So with the switch on you should get an ohm reading on the incoming and outgoing wires and with the switch off you should not get an ohm reading on these wires.
