actually the raptor 250 beat the 300ex in a shoot out....the rappy motor was a bit spunkier and the rappy has better suspention but hey suit yourself......the 300ex would need a set of tires when you buy it cuz it comes with 22' baloons in the rear

300ex has nothing on the raptor 250. Trust me, the Raptor 250 will be a lot more fun because you won't outride it as quick as the 300. Late 80's technology vs latest and greatest, it shouldn't even be a contest.

I know somebody that has an old 250x, exact same thing as the 300ex except with about 3 horsepower less. You couldn't pay me to ride that thing all day, I hate it. It just feels really cramped, and the handling just seems real loose and twitchy especially at high speeds. When given the choice when we go riding at his place, I actually ride the beat up 86 moto-4 200 with 2 different size rear tires, bend handlebars, and no battery instead.

Let's meet the players: Bombardier DS650, Cannondale Cannibal 440, Honda Sportrax 400EX, Kawasaki KFX400, Polaris Predator, Suzuki Z400, plus the Yamaha 660R Raptor and Banshee.

The Yamaha Banshee is a unique ATV with an unmatched engine. During acceleration runs, in the loose California soil, the Banshee isn't the fastest off the line or the quickest to 45 mph. We know from experience, however, the Banshee needs lots of room to hit its sweet spot - the top end. A sluggish bottom end and less-than-thrilling midrange made the Banshee feel slow in this challenge, but its favorable top-end is always a benefit. The Banshee will always be admired for what it can do in the sand and on open trails. By getting a feel for the Banshee's unique traction needs, some riders can keep the rpm at the correct level and keep it in its sweet spot - unlike a four-stroke.
