I'm lookin for a sport atv and i narrowed it down to the yfz450se and raptor700se.
im lookin for something that i can ride around with like on trails, sand, and street .
i want some thing that has power, acceleration, handleing, and speed.

 

Both are great choices for what you want. It will probably come down to which one you just like the looks of or which one you can find a deal on. Both are very fast and almost equal in speed. The 700 has reverse and to me is more comfortable than the 450. The 700 is made more for trail riding where the 450 is made more for the motocross track, but I know plenty of people that trail ride the 450 and love it. The 450 will handle better in turns, but the 700 is no sloucher in the suspension department. The 700 is a torque monster with a smooth power band where the 450 likes to be revved to the moon. I personally like the 700 better for trails.

 

both are very good quad. sence you trail ride more i whould get the raptor 700. alot more bottom end power and reverse is nice also. oh and fuel injection [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

UNLESS YOU ARE PLANNING ON RACING YOUR QUAD GO W/THE 700R BEST ALLAROUND QUAD MADE!

 

700 has reverse and that comes so in handy in the trails believe me i have a yfz and it sucks getting off and pushing to turn around go with the 700 and it has the speed like the yfz

 

My friend has both and I can tell you that unless your trail ridding envolves alot of long straight, you will probly not enjoy the 450 as much as the 700. They are both awesome, the raptor is just easier to use all around because of the tourqe. Think of a car with a turbo, great car, fast as hell, but if you can't get into boost it's not as fun.

 

looking at this too. 700R has some of the same front end parts as the YFZ and is more comfy to ride - which as some may say that that aspect doesnt matter - it does in trails. 700r just has more bang for thr buck, more features and more versatle. dont think you'd be disappointed.

same a-arms. shock are very similar exp. the newer ones. the 06 didnt have that good of shocks stock on it.

 

if your trail riding get the 700.i ride a banshee but have rode 450 660 and 700.the 450 will out run the 700 in a drag race only because its more ready to go out of the box higher compression etc.the 700 is faster on the big end.the reason i would get the 700 if you are trail riding,lower compression predictable power,plus if you wanted to mod it later a 450 cant touch it.the only way i would like the 450 is for a track,but i have a friend that trail rides one he loves it.or spend 2,000 to 3,000 and ride the bullet,what i ride banshee.install yfz 450 shocks on the front,pipes and a few other small mods and your ready for the trail ride of your life.2cycle allot cheaper to mod or rebild by far period.i do like the 4strokes but to me i like the way the power comes on with a two stroke,fun factor is better to me.for trail riding.but if i was racing i would ride a 4 stroke for the simple fact that you can put the power to the ground and handling.i say get the 700,450 feels wierd to me in sum ways but has some lets go a direction right now acceleration.
