Big bear no spark
Smokey would proud but I am confounded. '97 350, solid running machine gets parked for a couple of days and then won't start. Not getting any spark.
CDI's and stators are expensive so I am looking to do some in depth troubleshooting before I lay fat stacks on parts.
What kind of voltage should there be going into the coil? Can this be hot wired (like a car) to see if the cdi went south?
Thanks for any input, It just snowed and me and kids are really bummed.

Update...
sparks when pull start...not with bat start????
Replacing battery today. It turns over well and holds 12 solid Volts. I guess my theory is that it uses all its sack to turn over the starter and engine and the power coming back off the stator is going back to charge the battery and not enough V left for spark??
developing...
Will advise...
