If the axle broke you would have more problems than one wheel spinning. It's the splines at the end of the axle. I have seen this happen - twice. Once on a Polaris Predator and once on a Raptor 660.

Default Weird Blaster Rear End Problems

axel splines, got a cheap fix, get your welder out and weld it an the back side of the axel, if its the splines on the axel not the hub, if its the hub splins buy a new hub, on ebay for cheap.....
