cool head, v force reeds, or exhaust for my shee

oooh thats what they do for a port job i know for 4 stroke motors the heads get ported.the reason for fmf not tommys is every banshee i've seen around here had fmfs and i used fmf pipes before on other bikes so im sticking with them.

depends if the dealer has a machine shop. haha
Dont wast your money on vforce reeds unless your going to port the hell out of the motor and put bigger carbs on it. I am looking for a cool head myself because they have inerchangible domes so i can run 93 octane during the week, and change them out to run 110 at the drag track on the weekend. I found a nice set of used Bills pipes for $100 on craigslist. I ported the jugs myself for the cost of the dremel ($30)
All together i plan on spending this...
100 for pipes
150 for used cool head and domes
120 for rear tires
300 for pistons and boreing
30 for dremel
all together about $700 into the engine
Beware that I was extra carefull with the port job i did, and that i measured both ports with calipers to be shure they were identical.
For you, just find a nice set of used pipes, increase the compression by milling the head or getting a cool head, rejet the carb (if stock carbs, jet up to between 220-235) then if you have stock tires, your going to need a nice set of aftermarket ones

hey i have an 01 banshee it is ported, has race carbs, k&n filter, fmf pipes and soon to be vforce 3 reeds, are the reeds going to give me power or did i just waste my money... ? a cuple other questions are withh it beat 660 and 700 raptors? thanks -cj

reeds dont buy you power, waste of $'s in my opinion. in some model dirtbikes with poor stock reeds, aftermarket reeds can give you a better throttle response. but generally the gain in power is all in your head. save your money for an engine mod, and buy a set of stock reeds.

Milling the head will be approx 80$. Yes, nobody will know what you have either.
Are you planning on getting porting done anytime in the future? if so i would recomend getting t5's. They go good with stock and ported engines mid-top end power. Fmf sst pipes, or toomey t6 are also good for mostly stock engines.
You can find a check online for a set of used pipes. There are always some listen under "for sale" on www.bansheehq.com or ebay.
Good luck.

get some good pipes like toomey t5s then take it from there...milled head, +4 stator plate, vforce3 reeds,k&n or uni pod filters, Tors removal, trail porting, boring with wiseco pro lites, bigger carbs, noss or cool head,domes.... list goes on lol, would always start it off with the big 3, pipes, filter, jetting then go from there.
