hmmm i seem to be in a bit of a pickle the issue i am worried about is the low ground clearence of all the machines i could put 22s on the yfz but as i said before the raptor 700 didnt look big it felt big when i sat on it and my dad has an 08 700 grizz and ithas lots of power and i thought that in a sport quad would be to much and i dont have 7000-8000 dollars id like something in the 2-4 maybe 5 thousand dollar range and it doesnt need to be modded any but ther is an 05 z400 at my dealer but it looks beatup so i dont know ther is a clearence sale on april 13 so i have a while to think but who knows at a sale sorry for the huge *** run on sentance but any replies are appriciated

A lot of the guys we ride with have 450's and they wouldn't take anything for them. They love them for trail riding and we ride exactly like you mentioned.

i wasnt looking to buy new but like a 04-06 yfz i could get for around 4 or 5k couldnt i? 660 raptors are nice but my dad might not like it but so i guess ill see but ther is no 660s around here in nebraska so i cant find a deal

The difference in the feel of the size comes from several things. The YFZ has a narrower seat and like someone else stated you have a forward lean on it in riding postion. The pegs on the 450 are higher which brings your knees up more. The 700 does sit about a inch taller in stock trim so the combination of those things are the feel you get.
You should be able to find a nice quad for the 4 to 5k price you are looking at. A buddy of mine just got a nice 05 450r for $3500.
