I'm not ready to sell it yet, just toying with the idea for now. But I live in pennsylvania about 20 minutes from harrisburg. It's got a 318 v8, 3 speed auto, 115,000 miles on it. Most sport quads will fit in it, anything over 46 inches wide will be a squeeze though. I haven't tried it yet, but I think you could actually fit 2 inside if the 2nd row seat was taken out.
I have had thoughts of keeping it and dropping a more powerful motor and transmission combo into it. The little 318 gets the job done, but it's impossible to keep up with traffic when you're on the highway and you start running into the big hills we have around here. On average when we're loaded up for a riding trip that little motor is dragging around 5 tons between the van, gear, trailer, quads, and passengers. No wonder the mileage sucks.

Yeah, but if you've got other people riding along it's not that bad. The last trip I went on was a little over 100 miles each way, and round-trip I used right around 20 gallons of fuel. But with 3 of us riding, it only came out to about $25 each for fuel so even with bad mileage like this it's not that awfully expensive. I'd expect a standard v8 fuel injected van to get about 14 with the same load that I had, if not better. The newer vans are surprisingly good on fuel. I had a 2005 chevy Express 2500 work van for about a year, and that was really a great van. Even with the 6.0 vortec motor, which puts out around 350 horses and 400 ft/lb of torque, I averaged 18-20 mpg with mostly highway driving, and I drive with a lead foot most of the time. It's hard to find a van like that for under $8,000 though.
But just out of curiosity I was looking on ebay and craigslist last night pricing vans. I saw several chevy cargo vans with the 350 v8, early 90's models, selling for 800-1300. That would be great for something cheap, reasonable on gas, and reliable.
