Default warrior axle housing

i ordered a axle housing off ebay from a 98 warrior to replace it with my 87 warrior. i put it on and the brake rotor goes all the way against the mounting braket......?

could this be brake disc hub? is a 98 that much different from a 87? i was thinking maybe the 98 hub is a little bit longer than the 87...... or are the axles a different length?

you should post a picture of what you are talking about.

The axle housing is different, as well as the swingarm. The first Warriors had the axle carrier bolts threaded directly into the swingarm, where the '90-up had bolts and nuts to hold it on. This was always a problem because the axle carrier bolts always stripped out the threads on the swingarm. I'm not sure of any more differences.

ok, i also noticed that the 87 brake rotor is smaller than the 90-up. why is that?

also i just replaced the throttle cable and the new one seems to be an 8th of an inch too short. i have it routed through the frame right and the adjusters are all the way in. am i overlooking something? the picture in the book shows the same problem but doesn't say how to fix it...... do you have any ideas?

when i routed my cable i had it running through the frame correctly but right under the handle bars there is a little piece of metal like a bracket for something the my cable was caught on. i noticed it pretty easily so i don't really see you looking over it, just check and make sure, you never know. by-the-way i tried to use an older banshee rotor for my 2001 warrior it had the same bolt pattern but it was about a 1/2 inch smaller in radius than my stock rotor. sorry if i couldn't help much.
