Default ATV Painting

So i got my ATV recovered that was stolen 2yrs ago. It wasn't in bad shape it needs new plastic for the foot boards 16 bucks not bad. and the plastic on some of the fenders has been bent and stretched you can see where they hit a tree or something stupid by the discoloring of the plastic. it also came with a full tank of gas and 2 new keys. anyways i'm thinking about getting some of that paint for plastic and possibly redoing the body to make it look good again and maybe make it pink for the girl friend. anyone ever try painting the plastic. i've read alot of mixed reviews of people who have done it and plus i have nothing better to do with my time until i get a new truck and trailer. well let me know what yall think

the plastic paint works great, except around the gas tank. As soon as Gas hits it its gone, but you can feather in the same color and never notice.....

Should've asked, I'll post before and after pics of a blaster here in a min.

ok so no before pics, but you can imagine what a 1994 blaster that a 14 year old had looked like.

It might look good for about a month. After a while you will have a mess and have to do it all over again. I had an idea for mine, but haven't tried it yet. I was going to get some colored vinyl sheets from the local sign shop and apply it to the top of my fenders. You can heat it up to go around bends and can cut it and make a seam where there is extreme angles coming together. Plus it will last a long time.

That paint job is still on that blaster, or was a year ago. And all but the gas tank cover we had no problems, put a epoxy on it, and that solved that problem, slight color diffrence though.

If you do it right it works, if not it won't. I have also done it on a 400 ex and it did good for about 6 months then flaxed off, but it was identical color to the bike and we didn't notice it until the big crease in the fender showed back up while riding, but we forgot to wash it down after sanding, If my memory serves me correctly.

and you just put some clear coat over it around the gas take or what. i could probably just put some kind of decal around the neck if worse came to worse so the gas wouldnt' spill
