I RACE MX AND I WAS WONDERING IF YOU WERE ME WOULD YOU RACE A 2 STROKE OR A 4 STROKE? I WOULD RATHER RACE A 2 BUT MIXING GAS AND OIL, FILLING WITH COOLANT, KICK START, AND FOULING SPARK PLUGS IS TOO MUCH $H!T TO DEAL WITH. WHAT WOULD YOU PICK?

'98 300EX: DG PIPE, BIGGER HEADER, AFTERMARKET AIR FILTER, PRO DESIGN KILL SWITCH, NEW BARINGS, NEW LONESTAR AXLE, AND NEW HOLESHOTS.

You already have a decent machine for racing, add a 330 kit and you'll be all set. With the 330 kit your able to have the edge over a 400ex in a race.
Look in the jan. 2001 issue of dirt wheels for the full article.

Personally I prefer a two stroke....But I have to admit the riding a raptor does give me some wood ; )

Mix Gas? Get a ratio rite for 5 bucks (or less) so it takes 2 seconds to mix gas and you always get it right.

Fouled Plugs? I have very rarely fouled a plug. Unless your jetting is way off this simply does not happen as often as some say it does.

Kickstart? A two stroke is easy to kick, and with the banshee they start quickly! No battery to worry about. Starts any where any time. Give me a manual start any time.

Benefits of a two stroke - less moving parts, more power, less expensive and lot easier to raise power levels.

Put a banshee motor in a raptor frame and I would be in heaven....

I prefer a four stroke for trails but two strokes rule in the dune. What I want to see is a four stroke that has the same displacement as a two stroke and beat it. Will that ever happen???

If I had 1 wish, it would be to have a 4 stroke with the power of a Quadzila. Thank you very much! I know, I know, keep dreaming.

You may have to rebuild 2-strokes more often then 4-strokes but, racing your gonna have to rebuild them both about the same... me, I preferr the 2-stroke ummmppphhh....

If mixing gas and oil and kick starting is too much for you, get another hobby "Jiz"..

Four-strokes are the way to go. Back in the 80's 2-strokes were king of the hill, but now with the E.P.A. and all 2-strokes will be a thing of the past!!

Because of attitudes like that the atv industry is where it is today. They were kings in the 80's and still are today.the Raptor may be a comfortable quad, but what is still winning races? and what will continue to win races until a newer version comes out? point blank.
