Default Blaster Problem

Every time I turn the gas to the off position for transport of my blaster when I get to where I'm going and turn it back on the machine either starts draining gas out of the overflow hose, or when I start it, it will idle but when I give it gas it dies? I then take the float bowl off spray it and float with cleaner and it runs fine. When I go to return home from riding the same thing will happen if I turn the fuel off. What is the direct connection between the fuel on/off swithch on the gas tank and the float in the bottom of the carb, since there only connected by a then black hose? THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!!!!!

the gas is gravity fed dirrectly into the float bowl, i had the same problem with the stock carb on mine, i never took the time to troubleshoot it, i just put a 38mm flat slide on it

Those carbs must be crap. I've had nothing but trouble here too.

yeah i just left the gas on with the old carb (quick fix), it would just have gas come out the overflow the first minute or two of riding

Have u cleaned the whole carb? cause i had one that would do something like that and every time i hauled it the carb would get shook up and all there that was wrong was that there was a little piece of sand in it and it would get stuck in one of the jets.

Usually float stuck on mine. Spraying carb cleaner up the drain hose would fix it occasionally.

Good point. My little cousin next door bought my old one from me. I'm still the one doing most maintenance on it so, I'll check that out on ours.

The Inline filter will solve the problem if its the same thing that happend to my blaster. The on off selector has a ruber o-ring and gasket my 2003 had already went to crap and when you move the **** tiny pieces of the gasket chunk off and end up in your float valve causing it to be stuck open. After a little riding and some bumping around the rubber will come free. new valve rebuild will cost 6 bucks from yamaha.
