on a stock raptor 350 all you can adjust is ride height. get some elka's and you can adjust preload (ride height) compression and rebound depending on which options you get. I put some 05 YFZ450 shocks on my wifes 350 and she loves them they have rebound and compression adjustments and they are sprung lighter than the factory shocks so it is alot better for her when we race Cross Country.

just on the front. the rear is still stock but a 2001 raptor 660 rear shock is a nice upgrade for the rear. to adjust the ride height with your stock shocks you need to turn the chrome piece under the spring to the right to raise the ride height or to the left to lower it.

when setting the ride height it takes 2 people. You need to sit on the bike in your riding positon. you then have some one measure the ground clearance under the front engine mount and under the swing arm mount. the front needs to be about 1/4 - 1/2" higher than the rear. stock that is all you can adjust. if you swap in YFZ450 shocks you can adjust the rebound and compression. when setting the rebound you want the shock to extend fast enough to take the next hit with out shoving the handle bars back into your hands but not to slow that the shock is still compressed when you take the next hit.. when setting the compression you want the shock to give just enough so it absorbs the bump but that the front end does not dive when you hit the brakes.
