Default Flushing out the cases

I blew the piston on my 99 blaster. When it blew some little pieces fell past the crank into the case. What could i use to flush the metal out without having to split the cases. I was thinking safety clean but that would degrease it and then i would have to take apart the bottom end and re lube it.

Since there is really no way of knowing if you have "flushed out" all of the shrapnel, splitting the cases is the only sure bet...

Diesel fuel works great. Just flush it good and you will be fine.

Yes Deisel fuel or kerosine will work , kerosine has a little more of an oil base to it that's what i used after i had to rethread and install a Heli Coil in my 86' Honda TRX350 Foreman 4x4 ; after the local Dealership let a young kid who he was paying minumum wages and still in Jr. High work on my Foreman the kid stripped the oil plug hole and the Dealer tried to tell me it was already stripped when i brought it to his shop

He told me he would rethread it to the next size for $75.00 , i told him i would fix it myself and charge him for part's and labor ; i spent $70.00 plus tax for the heli coil set and a good drill bit

After i drilled out the oil plug hole i used kerosine to flush out any metal shaving's , then i threaded the hole and install the heli coil bringing it back to the orignal size ; then i made out a bill from my shop to his for $179.00

The Dealer refused to pay the bill untill i called my lawyer at his shop , and gave the phone to him to talk to the lawyer ; after he got off the phone he paid up !!

Good luck and i hope everything work's out , let us know how it turn's out when you're done
!.......

Hey thanks guys. Im saving up right now to buy the piston. It sucks being a freshman in high school. I got a 92 mustang 5.0 and a 99 ford f250, that my parents didn't pay for any of them. I spend my money way before i actually get paid from work. I got so many toys and i cant even afford a 100 dollar piston.lol. just imagine 4.00 a gallon for diesel for the 250 and 3.05 for gas.
