Default yamaha 660 getting to much fuel

so my raptor started leaking fuel out of the drains at the bottom of the carb and its leaking out of both of them. its been running ruff and it constantly backfires so im assuming its getting to much fuel. i thought maybe the floats were sticking so i took it apart and sprayed some carb cleaner in them and that didnt help. i have also heard if the intake boots going to the carb arent on tight that could be the cause but i checked it and its fine... any ideas

sound like the float might have a hole in it therefore not floating properly to allow needle to seat properly to shut off fuel. Also could be needle and seat are either dirty or damaged

would that cause both of the drains to leak fuel. i thought it could be that but it seemed kind of odd that both of them had holes in them cuz they both started leaking at the same time.

i had a problem with my 660 leaking fuel from the drains of the carbs. i tore the apart 3 or 4 times. i finally descoved that there are little O-Rings around the needle valve that is controlled by the floats. yamahaa only sells the rebuild kit for $50.00. and i only needed to O-Rings. i found them at the auto parts store, one dozen for $3.00. replaced them and the leaking stoped. i hope this helps you and good luck!
