I could only wish that my Yamaha had the same track record as my Polaris. The Kodiaks choke freezes when it gets cold out. If you go anywhere near water, the belt is useless. The lights have already burned out. The brake pads last an astounding 2-3 months.

Polaris changes models because they are going with the times, and listening to the public. Not like Yamaha, who hasn't so much as changed a bolt in thirteen years on the Banshee, Warrior, and Blaster. Yes, I know, they changed from J-arms to A-arms on the Banshee. Wow, what an advancement. They still, after thirteen years, have the miserable chain adjustment, and the miserable air filter setup. Maybe they should start listening to the public.

I once owned a 90 500 Quadzilla, I now on a 99 Banshee nad a 00 Raptor and let me tell you that neither will even come close to beating my 500. When my 500 was stock it ran 83mph, so i think your neighbors 500 is running very badly. The Raptor is far more versitile, suited for almost any riding situation. The banshee is more specific. For flat out drag/dune racing, a Banshee cant be beat. I only have pipes and filters on my banshee and it will still outrun my Piped, jetted and air filter equiped Raptor. But teh Raptor is a far superior machine as far as modern quads go. I guess i like them both about the same, but for your riding i would difinetly suggest the Raptor because:easier to handle, handles better, reverse, electric start,no pre-mix, both are reliable, but teh Raptor wont require as much upkeep such as ring jobs, ect

I have had my Raptor since November, and I almost have 100 hours on it. It has been excellent so far, it is one great quad. I would not buy a Polaris even if it was the last quad on earth. Way to many headaches, and they are not built like a true sport quad. I know they could never hold up to a Raptor, Banshee, 400 ex, Warrior, 300 ex, 250 R, LT250. I rest my case !

at 13 the banshee is to specific they are extremely fast when modified, the raptor is more tame, but very snappy at low end, I hope you have some experence on a quad, both are a lot of machine for a 13yr old

Do you have any experience with quads? More importantly, with 2-strokes? If you can learn to handle a 2-strokes peaky power curve, I'd say a Banshee. Stock-for-stock a Banshee and a Raptor run about the same. Maybe 2-3 m.p.h. for the Raptor's gain. But with the extra money you spend for a Raptor, you can modify a Banshee to beat any Raptor with the same amount of money. And you need much less mechenical skills to work on a 2-stroke than a 4-stroke.

i agree with the quadfather about the raptor.my proof is just to go read your own forums.these raptors are junk.BUT i do believe the polaris is worse ive got a friend that works at a polaris dealership.he even admits they r bad.says he wouldnt buy 1 even at cost.between him and the guys i ride with that have them. ive seen lots of trouble with them.as always quadfather i mean no disrespect.
