when i start it up on choke it runs fine then when it warms up and i take it off choke it pops knocks then dies out i cleaned the carb and put a new needed flywheel clutch on it cause the other was shot.. whats wrong with it.. could it be electrical.. or timing? i need help... do i need to adjust the carb? i tried adjusting the idle screw it doesnt do anything or help.. someone plz help me i dont wanna take it to a dealer and pay extra money and service money for it and takes 5 weeks... so plz somone help plzzz.. my email is hostetler_truck@windstream.net.. thanks

 

so if you just leave it on choke could you actually drive it around and it would be ok? or would it still stall? it sounds like something in your carb isnt right...seems like its running lean...but it doesnt make sense for your bike to run good a lil while ago then all the sudden run like its leaning out, how do you have your airbox/aircleaner set up btw? do you have any other spare jets?

 

if i put it all the way on choke.. it runs fine i cans et the idle screw so it runs on choke and idles fine and runs just like it would idleing without choke but right when i push the choke in it pops knocks and stalls.. i was riding it around today with it on the choke and it seem to run fine just when i take it off it messes up it has a k&n airfilter that i cleaned and recharged but no i dont have any spare jets

 

do you have your airbox lid on or off? if everything is ok in your in your carb then it just seems like you need a bigger main jet, when you have choke on it makes it run richer...take it off and it seems like it leans out then just sputters because your mainjet is to small

 

i took it to a dealer weeks back and he cleaned out the carb... nothing else....i have the top of the airbox on right now.. it runs strong and fine on choke then when i take it off choke it pops and knocks..the knocking sounds more like its sucking air or something.. i seen weeks back that the boot that hooks the carb to the cylinder was dry rotted so i replaced that thinking thats why it ran shitty but its still messed up

 

try running it with the arbox lid off... and tell me what it does, but something cant be right in your carb...a loose or dirty jet, needle valve, float at wrong height i dno...but if its all fine you need to buy a bigger jet...best suggestion is to buy a dyno-jet jetkit on ebay there like 47 bucks shipped and it comes with all sorts of jets, new needle and other things, but its hard for me to know whats wrong if i was there it would be easy
