does it idle ok? it might need a fuel bowl adjustment or smaller main jet, and i think you can measure the smaller side of the carb to see what MM it is.

yeah it idles great and fires up fine even after sitting for a few weeks. It runs good too, just higher rpms it acts up - if I shift sooner then you don't notice the stumble / sputtering - just the higher rpms when you are gettin on it. Course now I find out the stock throttle cable won't work - the Yamaha dealer said around 10 bucks to make a custom one. May just bring it in to them to get the jetting done, that's what they are thinking per my explanation to them today.

Well she's running like a champ now. Had to rejet the carb, and now it plain out flies. Haven't found out what size carb this is yet, still working on that. The exhaust is a DG Steel Rcm Exhaust, but I think most of the packing is taken out, or so it seems. I contacted DG with a couple of questions. Also the local dealer gave me gas tank bolts for free, and a few for my air cleaner lid. Throttle cable had to custom make - they charged $20 to make and install, so couldn't complain with that. Again thanks everyone for the info - appreciate it.

Could it be a 400EX carb? seems like they had a carb similar to that, but I could be wrong.
