Am I the only one? Does your spouse complain when you just want to ride for a few hours? I ride less than 2-3 hours a week, I spend quality family time the rest of the time, I work hard, I bring the check home, I attend to my two daughters, I cook sometimes, but somehow all these points just don't add up when I want to go ride.

What do you guys think? Am I selfish? Am I the only one?

Take her riding with you!! I bought a Yamaha warrior about 3 years ago. My wife said she had no interest in riding, but I bought her a Blaster anyway. I made her attend an ATV safety course, and she fell in love with her Blaster. After riding for 2 years, she felt the need to upgrade her machine. She was actually out riding her Quad!! I bought her a Raptor for her birthday, It was like watching your kid at Christmas. She can't wait till we go riding again. By the way, My wife is a Mortgage banker, not the type that you would imagine riding a ATV. Buy your wife a Quad, don't break the bank, buy her something used. Good luck.

That's the weirdest thing, as I was putting up a post, my wife was asking "Are you actually going to use this thing or is it just going to sit in the garage?" Yes, I'll use it if you let me is the answer. The first thing is purchasing it, then I'll deal with getting to ride it. I figure compromise will be a big factor.

I took my wife on a poker run on the 1st of Jan. There were at least 5 guys on quads, she had no problem keeping up with us at all! One of the guys said that "she's the best chick I've ever ridden with!" My wife is really cool. Good looking, nice dresser, plays softball, rides quads, great mother and she's a Christian! Can't get any better than that!

Well, me and my wife are newlyweds. Before I couldnt really get out and ride, but now tha we have our own house and such I get out just about every weekend but she still gripes. I dont see why? I see her all week long, spend time with her, cook, clean and such, I work 8 1/2 hours a day, 5 days a week, only ride one day outa the weekend and spend all the rest with her! If I had the extra money to buy her a quad I would.

OK, Guys. How about a little insight from a woman and a wife? Perhaps she thinks that you are riding just to get away from her - if that's the case then yes, she will resent that. Have you made it very clear to her that you ride simply because you love to do it? Because it's a nice stress relever after a long week at work? Maybe she gives you a hard time because she wishes she had something fun to do on the weekends, too? Does she have any interest in riding? The important thing is to alleviate any insecurity that you having fun without her causes. Now, I myself never had that problem. I told my husband there was no way he was getting a quad without getting me one too. Either we take the kids out, or we get a sitter and REALLY go riding every weekend! And I think I like it more than he does! I also know three other guys that got quads for themselves, and are now getting quads for their wives, as well. Keeps the peace! And you can't put a pricetag on that!

I do tell my wife that I ride quads simply cause im addicted to it. If I could ride 24/7 I prolly would. I would take her but riding doubles on a Banshee doesnt seem safe to me and I wouldnt want her to just sit at the truck all day while we ride.
I do plan on getting her a quad someday but right now its not possible.

Been married [1st 0ne and still] for 22 yrs.Marriage insecurity at first is not an uncommon thing.A few new wifes dont understand that we guys need our space to.

If she continues to hound you about your riding, try taking her out a few times and let her ride your ATV.Does she like it?If so,buy her one to.If she dont like to ride, than she'll have to deal with the fact that you ARE going to ride, whether she likes it or not.

In my family the rules are simple,Im allways right! [Im just joking]
