Why is there so many "my 450 will dust a raptor, raptors suck" I have ah 01 raptor 660 it's fast.... it has a pipe, cam,k&n kit and jetting im happy with it actually i LOVE it,but i get soooo sick of 450 guys making ludicris claims dust, smoke, blow away, common yea a 450 is quicker it handles more agile its lighter the motor is a little more high strung OK fine well a rappy has atributes too,a little more top end ungodly torque and is damn near as quick in a drag,no its not as quick but in a drag its not "dusted" anybody that says that is just plainly a moron its like compareing a 69 Z28 to a 70 chevell ss454 the 450 is the small high reving 302 quick responsive z28 the raptor is the mid sized big inch 454 muscle car both are cool both are fast and one or the other is better for someone. but i wish these certin people would stop being immature retards making unrealistic claims and the 450 guys are worse than ANYONE!

feel better? hehe...
Well guys that ride the 400's 350's and everything else can't really say much... What would ya expect?
Try not to sweat it too much... There's always a faster quad out there... even faster than theirs...

I'd make a comment here about overcompensating and elaborate but i dont want scooter huntin me down LOL
Just enjoy what you have dont worry about who is gonna beat you on what... there will always be someone faster and someone slower than you. Just dont be the slowest guy or you eat the most dust.

Who cares if someones four wheeler is faster in a drag just learn to beat them in the technical spots. Its all about having fun anyway. I have a 99 warrior and in technical trails you really dont need any more speed or power.

I have a 800 and never go over 25 MPH, Hell most of the trails I ride if i went faster I would be Killed quick.
Ride and be happy, I say.</end quote></div>
I agree - ride and be happy :
Hence one of the reasons why I only bought a 450 sized quad... ok it is truly only a mere 421cc.. who cares - not me I like the technical stuff myself and that doesn't involve speed
But Discovery, why get the 800??? Spend the extra $$$ for what? The 500 would have been fine for 25mph....

At the dealer I purchased the 800 from the 500 was only $700.00 less, so i figured the 800 was a better buy.

Seems like 50% of the people who ride ATV's are full of it. Everyone thinks their quad will beat the other and go 150 mph, etc., etc., etc.., even if it's a Blaster, Breeze, 100 Champ or whatever they have. It's mainly immaturity and insecurity, and it's just the nature of man to be competitive. Let them brag or whatever they want to do and you just keep riding that 660 as long as you're happy, and don't let it deter you from having fun.

Ok with that being said -- understandable In the end it comes down to personally preferences... Personally I would have spent that $700 on tires / winch other stuff

I'm 37 and I ride with guys about my age. We ride trails and dunes in CA.
I ride a Raptor 700 for the combination of power and cruising luxury. At the end of the day my *** and legs and hands and forearms aren't as sore as my buddy's are from riding his 450, and we stay right behind each other all day.
I know I couldn't keep up with him on a track... but since we don't ride tracks I don't think I'm giving up very much.
I just bought my wife a raptor 250. The only thing I regret is that now, after having reverse on my own quad all these years, I will have to be her reverse gear.
By the way that raptor 250 is a freaking hoot to ride. 315 lbs and decent power.
The more I ride the less I care about 450 vs big bore. Then again, I'm not doing 100 foot triples. Neither are most guys on 450s who I think would be just as happy and a lot less sore on a Raptor.
When the 450s come down to about 300 lbs that will be freaking exciting though.
