Default raptor help please

I am having the same problem 02 Raptor bare wires at cdi. fixed all the wires and still no spark untill the voltage regulator is unplugged. once motor is running I tried to plug it back in and immediatly the motor died. Is it a bad rectifier or CDI. The manual doesnt say that this could cause a no spark issue.
I think it is the voltage regulator but I dont want to buy an $85.00 part unless I have to. Does any one have any sugestions?

Funny that we both have the same problems Gumpp!!
