Default 1999 Yamaha Warrior 350

Hello everyone. Just signed up with the site to learn some more about quads. I just bought a 1999 yamaha warrior 350 on friday. im not sure whats all done to it but i know it was maintained well and it does have some after market stuff like handle bars and a white brothers e exhaust system. i was wondering how i can get a lil bit more power out of it. i am new to riding quads but love power. i was reading how changing the front sprocket can effect acceleration or top speed. do i go up gears for speed or acceleration? also I was wondering how hard it is to tighten my chain? i went riding for the first time today at this place in Canton, OH and after a lil while i started to hear some grinding/clunking and my uncle said it was because i got a lot of slack in my chain? i know about the chain tensioners in the back but how hard is it to tighten the chain? do i just loosen the lock nuts and adjust the tensioners? and how tight do i make the chain? if you could let me know I'd greatly appreciate it.

when you hav less teeth in the front it makes you go slower but take off faster.more teeth in the front means that you will take off slow but top speed will be higher.when you tension the chain loosen up the 4 bolts on the bearing carrier then tighten up the 2 bolts that move the assembley back.

hello. i have a 98 warroir. great bike too. the first think i did was bought a new front gear 1 tooth less for take off power and i noticed a better accleration rate. also i bought Jet kit and that helped too. i also bought a after market pipe and that helped too. as for the chain, you can change the front gear 1 tooth less and you do not have shorten your chain. adjusting the chain is easy. and you better do it fast cause a loose chain will wear down your teeth reas fast, it did it on mine. good luck

I have a '00 warrior and if its taken care of, its very reliable. might want to check to see if its been jetted with the pipe on it. also, if you don't have one already, get a k&n air filter for it with a outerwears cover. you can get the filter at your local autozone cheaper than ordering one (wont have to pay shipping) or getting one from your local dealer. a pipe, filter, jetted and a sprocket change is all you'll get out of it without getting into the motor.
