87 yamaha warrior 350 wont start gets lil or no spark havent rode for ever and im getting sick of riding my 200cc mini bike so please help

 

ok, so it has weak or no spark sometimes? so that usually means that the stator or the ign. coil is bad or going bad, but you better make sure your common wires are not funking up, try to move wires around and your key and switch while your watcing your spark to see if its affecting it, your basically trying to recreate the problem, if its not anything in your wiring harness id say its either your ignition coil or the sparkplug boot maybe or your stator is about fried

 

but when you roll start it, it start but it quite and it dies like in 2 sec.

 

you try jump starting it? hook jumper cables up to it and see what happends, but when you check youe spark whats it look like? and when exactly did this happen? was it just sitting? riding for long period of time? did it get wet? or what

 

it sat this winter for about a month i push it a couple times and it started right u then i rode it for about 1 month, then my bro. rode it about 5 miles and it died we let it set for 10 min shook it and tried to start it nothing we took it home work on it did the same thing so we just let it set about 2 weeks then i went out to roll start it and it wouldnt go into gear so then i took it to a shop they said the tranny was out so when i got it home i slammed it out of the truck and let it sit for a week then went out and and pull up the shifter and it went into gear so i tried to start it and now it does nothing besides sputters for 2 sec and dies like it aint gettin no fire yes i tried jumper cables and still lil spark its a faint spark about a week or 2 ago yup it sat for a month at the shop, nope prob 5 or 6 miles every other day , yeah its been rained on and snowed on a couple of times

 

my bet is it needs a new stator, tell ya what idno if the site it still up but try going to yfm350.proboards31.com not many people know about it, you gotta sign up then post ur prob, they are experts on warriors some1 should help you there, hopefully its still up, i stopped using it when all my buddies started leaving cuz they sold there bikes and upgraded lol, but i have a hunch its your stator, as for pricing, rickys stators makes an aftermarket one thats way better than the OEM one and i think you can get for like $157 shipped but id check with other people first, its so hard sometimes to know what somebody elses prob is when your just typing on a pc instead of being there in person

 

it might be idk im gonna check evey thing out tomm. and put a new battery on there and try a honda cdi box and re gap the spark plug
