01 raptor leaking fuel from over flow tube
#1
My 01 yamaha raptor is continually leaking fuel from the over flow tube. What would cause that inside the carburator. It is doing it from both of the carbs.
I opened one of the float bowls but i dont really know where to start. Can any one help?

clean the carbs, and blow them out with air.
but becarefull not to loose the parts.
take the carb apart on bottom of carb , remove the needle and than remove the seat , and blow it out , its probly full of dirt.

Have a 2005 660. Used to turn off gas after riding and load on trailer. Would go out next time to ride when ever turn on fuel and leak.Would have to take apart and clean. Dont know if your leaks all the time or not but if you can get it to stop try to not let the fuel bowls go dry gos nows the fuel we get nowadays has all kinds of crud in it. Good luck

i had this same problem about 2 years ago. i cleaned my carbs and fuel would dribble out of the over flow tubs. so i cleaned them again and they still leaked. i finally descoved that the little float valve (pin) slides up and down in a brass housing inside of the carb. well pull it out and there is a little O-Ring around it. yamaha shop sells the entire valve assembly (casing, needle) for $80 each but you need two since 660's have two carbs. But chances are you only need to replace the O-ring around the brass casing. so go down to your local auto part store and you can buy a dozen of the for about five bucks, i did. replace the o-ring and it should stop leaking , mine did. but i would give your carbs a good cleaning first like warhorse and gunnyrob said. good luck!
