Winch hook up

Default Winch hook up

My kodiaks winch is direct to the battery, someone mentioned that it should be going to the realy, Can anyone shed some light on this please.

im not sure where it is on your model maybe under the fender but u should see the relay there usually not far from the battery, theres usually a few relays and a cylanoid

So I take it that it should go to the realay, there is one under the seat that the battery hooks up to, So I guess thats where it should be hooked to then.

yea im guessing so ive never used a winch so im not sure, lol, i guess otherwise if its wired direct to battery u can prolly operate it when bike is off? wiring to the relay is a little safer
