kodiak diff lock problem

that is what i needed did the same and nothing on the diff part so im at a stand still untill my service manuel i ordered shows up for a wire diagram thanks to bouth of you who have helped me

I looked at my Haynes manual. There is a main fuse and a 4x4 fuse under the seat. Also under the seat are two 4x4 relays and one more relay under the right fender. I would guess that it will most likely be one of these that is the problem. I recommend getting a Haynes Manual also. Not much money and they assume that you are not an expert ATV mechanic. The Haynes manual has more info to help get the job done.

thanks i tride to swap the two under the seat around no change but i will look under the fender to after work for the other one the manual i perchased is a haynes just waiting on it thanks for the info

Does it even go into 4 wheel drive? That should eliminate the fuse issue if it does. Sounds like you need to open it up and make sure everything is lubed up right and see if there's any damage to the spline lock...

I think he said it was not making the noise made when the 4x4 engages. I think electrical would be the first place to check. Easier to eliminate that first.

I don't think swapping them will tell you much. If one is bad it will still be causing problems no matter which slot it is in. The manual will tell you how to check them.

hay thanks for all the advice but when i got off work i removed the front rack to look at where all the wires from the diff go and there was a huge mouse nest almost threw up it stunck so bad but anyway found two wires chewed on one in two and it looks like it went to a relay that traildad was telling me reconected it and nogo still my haynes hasnt showed up so i omed the relay looking thing and didnt get any reading so with out my new haynes yet i dont have any idia yet
