does anyone know how to disconnect the reverse speed limiter. i know the 450 has an override, can one be installed on the 400. i got off in a hole the other day and couldn't back out because of the limit. it really sucks.

The Kodi/Grizz 450 doesn't have an over-ride for reverse, only diff-lock...same as all Yamaha's I believe.

I know this is only for the Grizz 660, but some ppl have done the same thing for the 400/450 and have said it works the same. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I will look at my bike and see if this will work. Have you heard about anyone installing a clutch kit and/or jet kit?

Well there are jet kits and clutch kits available for the Grizz/Kodi 400, if thats what your asking. I personally don't know how much effect they will have on the bike, but jets kits are usually only needed to tune the quad...usually when you add an aftermarket airfilter & exhaust. Clutch kits generally help it to turn larger/heavier tires, helps in deep mud, etc...but usually takes away some top speed, and if the quad doesn't need the clutch kit, then you could end up over revving the quad when taking it to higher speeds.

Depends how you have your quad setup & how you like to ride.

well, the limiter is for safety. To easy to roll a quad in reverse with out a speed limiter... That being said, I wouldn't doubt you could override it the same as with the 450/660/700 grizzlies... You just need to ground out the reverse sensor that should connect to the top of the motor just like the bigger quads...

Dalton and EPI both make a clutch kit for the kodiak 400. Might want to do a lil more research, but I'm sure it's all the same...

High Lifter makes a clutch kit for the kodiak 400 also, make sure to clutch for elevation and tire size, both are very important. Need any help give me a call.
