rookie carb questions...

I understand what you are saying. The quad was probably running rich before the new pipe. I ditched the stock one right off the bat. Anyway, I will the run full throttle plug test first and follow the rest of everyones reccomendations. I am going to wait until I modify my airbox and filter like raptorterry did. Also, how do I remove the needle from the palstic slide? and how many turns do you have your air screws set at? I will try adding and subtracting exhaust discs too. Thanks everyone. I am learning alot. I just wish this thing had a Holly carb!!!!!
does anyone know of any sites with carb diagrams?

I don't want to add fuel to the fire. But would it make a difference in the color of the spark plug if I did the full throttle plug test while the quad was in neutral or with the wheels blocked up instead of riding it at 3/4 to full throttle for 30 sec. The reason I'm asking is that I do not have an area near my home where I can run the quad at full bore for 30 sec and because I feel I lack the skills to adjust my carbs. I hated working on the carbs of my KX, it seemed like I could never get it ajusted just right.
