carb Help for a 16yr old

im 16 and dont quite understand how a carb works besides mixing air and fuel. what all do the jets do and how do they work? and the needle? im not sure i would like it if some one could give me carb 101 in a nutshell ...... im thinking about putting a k/N on my old warrior and im wondering if i need to rejet it or anything ??? i just dont wanna screw something up

you usually wont need to rejet unless you use an aftermarket exhaust or you run your bike with no lid on the airbox...ok this really depends on the kind of carb, but the opening of your carb, the hole is called the venturi below it is a bowl and theres a float which has a needle valve below it,when the fuel level reaches a certain level in the fuel bowl it pushes that float up and shuts off the fuel from entering into the bowl until it needs more, that way the jets are able to draw fuel, typically the throttle valve controls 0%-35% of the throttle opening, the needle jet and jet needle control about 15%-80% of throttle opening and the main jet controls 60%-100% and usually works in that order, the jets basically cause the fuel to vaporize as it goes into the venturi. any more questions ill try to answer...
