blaster won t kick start

Default blaster won t kick start

i have an 01 blaster rebuilt motor new 30mm kehin carb and a fmf exhaust but my blaster dosen t want to fire when kicked. ican drift start it and it runs good it seems to pop or back fire alittle but it dosen t do it all the time. i really cant figure out what the hells going on. i know it could be jetting but would that prevent the atv from starting. i was thinking my be the reeds are bad

usually if you have bad reeds it will fire up and stop again straight away if you are changing the reeds use carbon fibre race ones . it sounds like you have weak compression but with a rebuilt motor this shouldnt be . if it starts with a pull and drives fine but wont start off the kicker id be looking at compression

Yeah I would check the reeds 1st, replace the spark plug if you haven't done so already, and it's probably way too rich, so check the color of the spark plug when you remove it - black is too rich, white/grey is too lean, brown/grey is about right.

If you still have your tores or brake saftey hooked up check that, that's what it almost sounds like.

i believe i disconnected the toros set up when i added new carb i just have a straight cable from the carb to the throttle
