Grizzly 660 Oil-Light

Alright, my neighbor has come to me with a strange problem with his 660 Grizzly 4x4. The oil-light comes on part-way to all the way when accelerating at half-throttle or more. The light also tends to come on and stay on after the machine has warmed up if you're doing 30mph or faster.
I naturally changed his oil right away, and then hopped on for a ride. Sure enough, after I hit about 27mph, the light came on, and as soon as I let off the throttle, it turned off! I rode it around the neighborhood in loops a few times, and after the engine was warmed up, it was coming on at 26mph and staying on until you dropped it to 25mph or less.
What could be causing this? I am lost, and my Kodiak does NOT behave this way, even if I run it wide-open. I am thinking that maybe a sensor has gone bad or the oil-pump is messed up. What do you guys think?
