Default 350 Raptor vs. Competion

Looking into buying an 05' raptor 350 for my 12 yr. old. He rode an 02' 300EX and LOVED the bottom end torque and ease of wheelies. Now I found an 05' 350 Raptor and without having rode it yet was wondering what the bottom end power is like? Is it easy to crack the throttle and wheelie like the 300EX? Not concerned about top end. Is the new Raptors pretty much a Warrior with Raptor plastic?

The 350 does have more bottom end power and torque, but will not wheelie as easilly as a 300EX. The front end is a little heavier than the 300, but the 350 is an upgrade over the 300EX.

i rode a 350 raptor before, and i had to dump the clutch to get it to ride good wheelies. i was used to a blaster at the time, and as we all know a blaster will do a wheelie anytime you want them to and even times you dont. i own a 250x that pulls wheelies pretty good. their about the same as a 300ex... go with the raptor because even if they dont wheelie as good, they can still pull them off with a little bit of extra effort.

The 300EX has a White Brothers complete exhaust, K&N filter, Dyna jet kit. The 05' Raptor has Yoshimira slip on exhaust, no jetting. Would lowering the front sprocket a tooth over stock make much difference in the lo end snap I am looking for?

The 350 Raptor with a lower font sproket still won't help the bottom end that much! It is built for topend. You will just have to learn how to ride one on it. Ounce you get used to it you can ride one all day long.
