Hey all,
my 03 raptor 660 runs fine, but wont start by using the battery. if i jump it, it starts up just fine and runs great.
what should i look for to fix this? i have checked all of the fuses and they seem to be fine. i have replaced the CDI box hoping that would fix it, but did not.
when i hook up a car battery (with jumper cables) to try and start, the lights come on as normal. when i press the start button, i hear a clicking noise back by the cdi box, where the cables run from the CDI box to a fuse box (the battery cables run through this). this is where the fuses are in the back by the battery. i dont know if that is bad? really, i dont know what to look for? i dont know if my starter is bad?
any help or suggestions would be great!
thanks again for all the help!

that is the starter relay switch that is clicking. i hate that you wasted 200 bucks or so on a CDI box and did not need it. but the clicking is caused by two things, either a bad battery or battery connection or the starter relay. those are usually the most 2 common culprits.

Yup, a CDI box is very expensive to replace, and they almost NEVER go bad. If your batter is running even a bit low on voltage, your quad won't start. We had a wolverine in our shop a while back that had nothing wrong but a low battery, but by the symptoms you would have never guessed. The engine turned over great but had no spark with the starter, but would pull start every time. Check your battery's fluids and charge it overnight, should be just fine.

i tried that, and nothing happens.
the lights come on, but nothing happens when i push the start button except for the noise/click when i push the start button.
this is only one click. not a lot of clicks like a dead battery.
do you think it might be the battery relay switch??
thanks for the help.
