2002 Yamaha Raptor 660R
#11
One reason I got rid of my 01 Raptor 660 was I was putting money into it like every other week. It was getting bad. I have no clue why. But I never had tranny problems. But yes, very good deal

Carb's kept falling off... I kept reseating them to no luck. Finally went to the dealership and had them put them back on and a month later they were back off. The damn sprocket rod thing on the front sprocket literally threw itself out. Burned oil like a raped ape in the end. Clutch cable literally ripped in half. Chain snapped. Starter went out. Bottom left A-ARM snapped on a medium jump. and alot of other odds and ends since I had it for a year. Even when I traded it, it was in pretty bad condition and they still gave me 2200 for it
It constently spuddered at high rpms.. almost like the engine wanted to die completely. I patched it up and traded it in while I could. So far no problems with the new bike yet. But, i'm sure that was just that specific bike that had problems. That's why I suggest you buying that raptor for that price if you can't go any higher.

The early Raptors did have a major problem with the carb boots coming off, but they fixed that on the later models. I don't know what was changed, but a newer airbox and carb boots may eleiminate that problem on the '01's.
