Default Fuel gauge

I noticed that my fuel gauge no longer appears in the sight glass. Do you think the whole fuel metering assembly has fallen down in the tank?

Any tips on replacing it?

Thanks

This must be a pretty rare thing to happen.

I bought the fuel metering assembly for about $31 plus tax. I'll try to install it soon and report back. It looks like you should be able to pry off the top cover on the tank to get access to the mounting hole.

I did fish out what looks like the rail that the float rides on, but so far I haven't found the other parts in the gas tank.

If anyone has tried this before, your input would be appreciated.
