GPS question
#1
I"m new here, but, have had my Yamaha Big Bear since 02, since i'm a hunter, i'm curious if i can get a plug and play GPS to mount on the handle bars, anyone know of a good brand? I need one that's simple and will show your trail, touch screen if posible, Thanks

The only touch screen one that I know of that is also waterproof is the Garmin Oregon. The Oregon is pricey.
We have four GPSr's but we actually use the two cheapest ones when riding because I have destroyed two of them by rolling the quad.
We use a Garmin eTrex Legend and a Garmin 60C when riding. They are not touch screen but they are waterproof and we have loaded trail maps on them.

Thanks, i appreciate the reply's, I live in Oregon, but, this is for desert riding/hunting, although this week trust me, it rained in the Oregon desert off and on big time. I'll check out the GPS you 2 talked about.

How much do you want to spend?
The eTrex Legend can be had for $100 but it's monochrome screen and it's antenna isn't as good as some of the newer models.
The Garmin Oregon is $400-500 but it comes with all the bells and whistles. Just don't roll your quad on it!
Remember that maps can cost an additional $100 or more above the cost of the GPS.
We also use the RAM mounts and even though they are expensive, they are worth it.
I see that you are in Oregon. Here is a very useful website that allows you to download Northwest trail maps for FREE to your Garmin GPS! This is another reason to get a Garmin brand GPS. These free maps only work on a Garmin
