front sproket and shaft problems
i went riding with my friend a month ago and when i was riding; the nut that holds the fromt sproket on fell off and so did the front sproket. the chain was still going round and it tookmostly all the threads off of the shaft. is it an easy fix?? i have a 2003 yamaha 350 warrior.

Probably not an easy fix. You could try to rethread it, if you can find a threading die that big. Another option is to buy a new shaft, disassemble the engine and install it. Make sure next time that the washer that holds that nut in place is installed properly to prevent this from happening.

I think your best bet (and cheapest) is to call up some local engine/machine shops and explain your problem. They might be able to fix or re-thread the shaft to a smaller size. Make it clear that you need it fixed without removing the shaft from the motor. If someone can fix it for even $100 bucks it will save you a lot of money. The shaft itself is cheap enough but the labor will kill ya.
