Failed Sator, Common???
I am picking up a Warrior today that the guy claims, it needs a new stator. He wants $250 for the bike, worst case I can part it out and get my money back.
Is a Stator failing a common problem??? What is the quickest sure fire way to check the stator to make sure that it is bad?

on the warriors yes the stator commonly gets worn out it doesnt create spark anymore, if you take a look at the left side of the engine and see if the wire coming from the stator is frayed or damaged then thats one good way to tell, when they get frayed and the shielding gets worn they just start to get weak and moisture gets to it, but if you do a spark test on it and theres no fire then most likely its shot but you never know it could be alot of other things, an aftermarket stator form rickys stators is only $150, for $250 id buy it instantly. to truely test the stator you gotta ohms test the wires on it.

Failed Sator, Common???
I JUST BOUGHT MY WIFE A 99 WARRIOR AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING I CHECKED FOR SPARK AND IT HAD A WEAK YELLOW SPARK ONCE AND A WHILE WHILE CRANKING IT. AFTER REPLACING THE STATOR WITH A RICKYSTATOR.COM STATOR $150.00 IT HAD A NICE BLUE SPARK BUT DIED SHORTLY AFTER RUNNING. BECAUSE OF THIS AWSOME WEB SITE I WENT HOME AND LOOKED AT THE WIRING COMING OUT OF THE CDI BOX IN THE BACK AND AFTER REMOVING THE BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE FOUND THE WIRES WERE CHAFED AND 3 INCHES OF WIRING WERE BURNT AND GONE SO R&R'D THE BAD WIRES CARFULLY LOOMED IT UP SO IT WOULDNT HAPPEN AGAIN AND IT RUNS LIKE A CHAMP NOW
