Stupic carb
#1
I got a 95 warrior from my uncle. he left it parked for eight or nine years with gas in it. i cleaned everything out and rebuilt the carb. it started right up on the first try... lucky right. well it wont idle. It idles super high my pipe got cherry red, I just cant figure out how to get the idle down. i dont have a air filter in it right now but did not think that would cause the problem. I am stuck i tried for about four and a half hours yesterday to fix this problem. an suggestions would be great.

AT THIS POINT I HOPE YOU TRIED TO LOWER THE IDLE WITH THE THUMB WHEEL SCREW IF IT IS NOT MAKING A DIFFERENCE REMOVE THE PLASTIC COVER AND LOOK TO SEE IF THE LINKAGE IS ALLOWING THE BARREL TO GO DOWN ALL THE WAY

Check the carb boots. grab a can of carb cleaner or ether and spray around in short bursts. If you notice a change in idle you'll find where it's sucking.
You said you rebuilt the carb. Did you change the idle jet?
