Check the orange wire at the coil for a pulsing current when turning it over. If nothing there check it at the CDI. Nothing there, check the wires coming from the stator and if they have a pulse check them also at the CDI plug. If the stator is pulsing to the CDI but the CDI isn't relaying it to the Coil then it is fried. I just went through this problem. Also make sure you're ground on the coil is good as well.

hey....i have a 99 Kodiak 400 but same no spark issue... can you elaborate a bit on the pulse thing... i have tested all ignition components with a meter and they seem ok, but still no spark. i have 12+ volts at the orange wire with ignition on and when it cranks my meter goes crazy....still no spark

If your ground is good as well on the coil then you either have a bad coil, plug, or plug wire. Obviously try a new plug first, as they do develop shorts from time to time.
