OK, Thanks Guys! I'll avoid any motor work, the stock motor is probably all I'll ever need anyway. My buddy is is about the same height as me but weighs a bit more and he rides a Blaster. I'll see if he'll let me take his for a spin.

 

LTZ400 guy is right on the money! I have heard about the whole throttle and turning right thing. Sometimes it pays to be short! LOL! I would HIGHLY recommend the z400 if you can pony up the dough. I had one and it is by far one of the best atvs I have owned. Not the fastest, but light, quick, nimble, good suspension, solid frame, reliable motor, etc. I think it is the best atv someone can buy for a first one. However, you're probly looking at around 3k for a good used one, but worth the extra 150,000 pennies! I haven't heard of any "bad" years, so I think any year would be fine.

 

BTW, if you do get a blaster, FMF pipe and header, K&N filter or foam, jet it and you will be surprised how much power you can get out of it! I'll never forget the day I did this for my son. My neighbor (35 year old) had a polaris sportsman 500 (new) that he bragged about how fast it was. He challenged my son to a race down the street and he got SPANKED! After the third try he finally gave up in complete embarrassment that he got beat by a 12 year old! It was funny for a long time!

 

I know, alot of people think that just because they have a 500 or 700 they can beat anybody. It's funny to watch the get spanked by a 200 then. LOL

my friend is the same way about his raptor and i have a banshee. we raced him up hill on the street and he lost so bad it wasnt even funny, and now he doesnt talk about it anymore

 

Yeah, raptor owners make me laugh. They must just focus on the big number 700 and think it has to be faster than anything else. Don't get me wrong, they are quick and a good quad, but definitely not the fastest. Amazing low end torque, but don't have the top end.

 

stageiv im not hating or anything but a banshee moded will beat anything in a straight line race.. if it was a decent trail with some med dificulty parts thenn its different..

dont take this offensivly.. id love to have a shee..

anything except a suzuki lt500, the suzuki lt500 has been proven to be faster than the banshee stock for stock, and they handle better

 

my friend is always behind me on trails!! even when we go on mud bogs i beat him. he gets stuck more than i do. his raptor also breaks more. both good quads though. i was going to get a raptor first but the guy was selling it for way too much. i couldnt afford it. the banshee was 1/2 the price so i got it and i love it!!
