have a rap 660 was sitting for about 2 years. changed oil new battary. new gas. started up and ran fine a few times. now it starts and idles fine but it wont rev up.
acts like a rev limiter right off idle. took carbs off and cleaned jets and bowls, blew air threw them reassembled and still same problem, they are mounted properly, intake boots are a pain to get on right, any help on this would greatly be appreciated. im thinking has to be carb problem, havent tooken out plug to look at yet but will in morning. bat is good. and charging good. good fuel flow into carbs. gas drains out of both bowls when opening drain screws. thanks guys

 

ive not worked on a rappy yet so dont no if this will help or not but one of my friends has a polar and it acted the same way urs sound , ended up being a little box next to the thumb throttle that is a safty feature i guess so if the cable breaks it will slow down , or thats what we came up with but like i said ive not worked on one yet & dont even no if they have a box like that good luck

 

found out problem was a Bad Clutch switch, learned a new one here
