Yes, the Blaster is only 2 stroke, and the Raptor is only 4 stroke. It has to do with the way the engine operates.

Since you're new to ATV's the best thing to do, if you can, is to try a Raptor 350 and Blaster out for yourself. Sit on one and see what fits you better. Blasters are kind of small, but still comfortable for smaller riders. Ride each one and see which one you like better.

Some pros and cons of each: the Raptor 350 has better suspension and will not have as rough of a ride as the Blaster. Also the Raptor has electric start, where the Blaster has a kick starter. Plus you have to mix the oil and gas on a Blaster, where you just put straight gas in the Raptor 350. But the Blaster is cheaper and parts for the Blaster are very cheap compared to all other quads. Also the Raptor 350 is slightly faster than the Blaster in stock form.

For tight trails and hills, the Raptor is better - has more low end power for climbing and you won't have to worry about fouling spark plugs on the 4 stroke Raptor. The Blaster is wimpy on the bottom end.

 

Yea if you want something to beat the crap out of every weekend get the raptor/warrior.

 

ok ive riddin a blaster before i didnt really like the kick start. i did like the way it felt but it felt a little to out of control. is the raptor 1 down 5 up in gears? and which is better maintnence? i need something that wont break down ery time you ride it .

1 down 5 up, yes. The Raptor/Warrior 350 is the bike you need if you are looking for minimal maintenance, outside of oil changes and chain adjustments etc. I personally own a Warrior so I know a lot about them, but a lot of us have just been involved with quads for a long time and time is knowledge.

 

The only issue with the raptor 350/warrior that I have personally run in to is we took the machine to it's limit.I was going and took a jump at 40 mph no problem.The owner takes it and does the same jump at 50 mph and lands bad and carenes into a tree.The axle was bent but we pulled it out and there was no damage to anything else accept the plastics were bent alittle but no a-arm or shock damage.So we pulled it away from the tree and it started right up and we rode it back and it took a 10ton press to bend it back strait.But he's lookin for an aftermarket axle.Those thing are truly bulletproof.

 

ok is the raptor the same thing as the warrior because you kept putting a slash next to it? i have 2 little 100 cc atvs and there crap. so i was going to sell them to get something like this. i think im gonna go with the raptor based on what you guys told me about it. im not sure what cc to get probably 350 but im not positive.

 

The Raptor 350 replaced the Warrior. They are both 350cc 4 stroke motors. A Raptor is just an upgraded Warrior. The Raptor350 is a very capable machine, not the best top end but it is a very fun quad for the trails.

 

wat about getting a 250 cc raptor instead of 350? is there ANY DIFFerence besides speed. ( how fast does 250 go?)

 

I believe I read somewhere that the 250 is actually has a better, more sporty feel to it. But a 250cc 4stroke in my opinion is going to leave you wanting more. I don't know what the top speed is.
